Dear everyone,

Thank you for your support. Over this past month, we have experienced passion and challenges, pushing beyond many limits. I feel immense pride wearing the French national team jersey, and what’s even more important is that we all share the same enthusiasm, whether we are fighting on the pitch or cheering from our screens. This is an incredible story we’ve written together.

Although we were unable to bring back the champion trophy, an undeniable disappointment that will linger for a while, I take great pride in being the tournament's top scorer. Yet, adding a championship trophy to that would have been the perfect ending. Perhaps we owe you a more ideal conclusion, but endings are not always within our control; what we can choose is how much to invest, and we did everything we could, which gives us honor.

I want to extend a special thank you to my teammates; it is their hard work and cooperation that make individual performances possible. This honor belongs to the whole team, just as much as it belongs to me.

Since childhood, I have dreamed of playing in a World Cup. I have now participated in three, winning one of them. More importantly, this time I stepped onto the World Cup stage wearing the captain's armband, a moment that will forever be etched in my heart.

Thank you so much for staying up late to watch our matches, undeterred by time zone differences, supporting us from home, bars, or alongside family and friends, whether you are in France or elsewhere. Many have actively cheered for us, donning national colors on the stands. Witnessing the excitement of children and people from various backgrounds and generations coming together to share the joy of football is the true magic of this sport.

You have never let us down, even in our most challenging moments, despite performances that may not have lived up to expectations. This story is not solely written by the eleven on the field, but is woven together by millions of hands, fueled by the passion of each individual.

I have already expressed my gratitude to Didier (Deschamps), who understands my feelings. I would also like to thank the entire coaching staff, including the physiotherapists, chefs, fitness coaches, and drivers—the unsung heroes. Without your support, this would not have been possible. Additionally, thank you to our friends in the United States who cared for us during this World Cup.

At its core, football is still a game, one that we take seriously and pursue with our lives. Its rules are simple and have not changed since we first kicked a ball: a football, a goal, and a heart eager to score. That’s what allows this sport to connect us with the same passion.

Although this World Cup has come to an end, our story continues. There are more matches ahead, whether in the summer sun or winter nights, we will gather together, united by this game, our flames of desire still burning bright. The story of our fight together is far from over.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.

Kylian Mbappé
